Subject: Threat of crackers
Sir,
Please allow me a column in your esteemed and well-circulated daily to express my grievance against the random bursting of crackers during festivals which is the cause of great threat not only to the aged person but also to the environment.
Of late, the burning of fireworks has been an inseparable part of all festivals. For immense fun and merriment, people burst crackers causing discomfort to the ailing person as well as wrecking the peace and calmness of the locality. The thunder sounds of crackers are so vexing to the people. It snatches the peaceful sleep at night and even causes the possibility of heart attack and deafness. Very often careless use of fireworks leads to injury or devastating fire. The poisonous smoke emitting from burning crackers fastens the pollution level in the air and even it is very much harmful to the ecosystem as well as the healthy atmosphere. The city dwellers are not safe to go out during the festive days for the thoughtless bursting of crackers.
To stop air pollution and to preserve a tranquil healthy atmosphere, all sorts of bustling and selling of crackers should be banned by the Govt. as early as possible.
Yours faithfully
Pritam Kotal
Thanking You
