Kolkata, West Bengal,4th February 2020: Last Sunday, our Kolkata Union High School (H.S) organised an educational excursion to Murshidabad in West Bengal. It was a trip of one night and two days from 1^st to 2^nd February. Seventy students of Class 9 to 12 joined in this trip and five teachers including our school’s history teachers assisted us on this trip. It was a bright morning when we reached the school at 9 am and started our journey from there with a luxurious bus. We reached Murshidabad at 6 pm. Few rooms in a hotel were pre-booked for us. We stayed there for the night and had dinner there. On the next morning, after breakfast, we got ready for the outing. Our teachers divided us into five groups of 12 students. Each group was guided by a teacher. At first, we visited the Hajarduari Palace. It was a great building with a thousand doors. There we saw so many pictures of the Nawabs, swords and so many used things of them.  There was a notebook and a pen in every student’s hands. We note down everything whatever unknown we saw. Then we visited the Imambara, the house of Jagat Sheth, Motijhil, Khosbag, the tomb of Nawab Sirajuddaula and the intriguer Meer Jafar. We also visited the battlefield of Palashi and saw the Kaman used in this battle. We read about this historical place in History books before. But it was so thrilling to see the places with my own eyes. Our teachers explain the entire history of the place to us which helped us to understand the significance of the place. We also enjoyed the popular food of the place. We started our return journey at 6 pm on the last day and reached our homes the next morning. This excursion enhanced our knowledge of this great historical place. This experience of this visit will be everlasting in our minds.
