In British English, a long period of two weeks or 14 days is usually called a fortnight. You can hardly find the use of the word ‘fortnight’ in American English. 

This word is basically used to indicate that any work will happen 14 days after that day.

  • We had a fortnight tour to England. 
  • How much would it cost to book a room for a fortnight?
